Introduction
The TLIN1028S-Q1 is a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) physical layer transceiver that complies with the LIN 2.2A ISO/DIS 17987–4 standard and features an integrated Low Dropout (LDO) regulator. LIN is a single-wire, bidirectional bus commonly used in low-speed in-vehicle networks with a data transfer rate of up to 20 kbps. The LIN receiver supports offline programming applications with a data transfer rate of up to 100 kbps.
The TLIN1028S-Q1 converts the LIN protocol data stream on the TXD input into a LIN bus signal. The receiver converts the data stream into a logic-level signal, which is sent to the microprocessor via the open-drain RXD pin. The TLIN1028S-Q1 reduces system complexity by providing a 3.3V or 5V voltage rail with a current of up to 70 mA for power microprocessors, sensors, or other devices.
The TLIN1028S-Q1 features an optimized current-limiting waveform shaping driver to reduce Electromagnetic Emission (EME). The sleep mode enables ultra-low current consumption and allows wake-up via the LIN bus or pin.
The LIN bus has two states: the dominant state (voltage close to ground) and the recessive state (voltage close to the battery). In the recessive state, the LIN bus is pulled high by an internal pull-up resistor (45 kΩ) and a series diode, so no external pull-up components are required for responder mode applications. According to the LIN specification, controller applications require an external pull-up resistor (1 kΩ) plus a series diode.
