Descripción
The MSP430 ultra-low-power microcontroller series consists of several devices, each with different peripheral sets tailored for various applications. The combination of its architecture and five low-power modes is specifically optimized to extend battery life in portable measurement applications. It features a powerful 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and a constant generator that helps achieve maximum coding efficiency. The digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) enables the device to wake up from a low-power mode to an active mode in less than 1µs.
The MSP430G2x44 series is an ultra-low-power mixed-signal microcontroller. It has two built-in 16-bit timers, one universal serial communication interface (USCI), a 10-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with an integrated reference and data transfer controller (DTC), and 32 input/output (I/O) pins.
Typical applications include sensor systems, which are responsible for capturing analog signals, converting them into digital values, and processing the data for display or transmission to a host system. An independent radio frequency (RF) sensor front-end is also an application area.
