Introduction
This 16-bit (dual octal) non-inverting bus transceiver operates using two separate configurable supply rails. The A port is designed to track VCCA. VCCA accepts any supply voltage in the range of 1.4V to 3.6V. The B port is designed to track VCCB. VCCB accepts any supply voltage in the range of 1.4V to 3.6V. This enables universal low-voltage bidirectional translation between 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, and 3.3V voltage nodes. The SN74AVCB164245 is designed for asynchronous communication between data buses. Based on the logic level applied to the direction control (DIR) input, the device transmits data from the A bus to the B bus, or from the B bus to the A bus. The output enable (OE) can be used to disable the outputs, effectively isolating the buses. The device is fully specified for partial power-down applications using Ioff. The Ioff circuit disables the outputs, preventing damaging current backflow through the device when it is powered down. If either VCC input is connected to GND, both ports are placed in a high-impedance state.
