Introduction
The PN8386 integrates an ultra-low standby power quasi-resonant primary-side controller and a 650V high-avalanche-capability smart power MOSFET, designed for high-performance chargers, adapters, and built-in power supplies with minimized peripheral components. The PN8386 operates in primary-side feedback mode, eliminating the need for an optocoupler and TL431. The built-in high-voltage startup circuit enables no-load power consumption (at 264VAC) of less than 50mW. In CV mode, quasi-resonant and multi-mode technologies are employed to improve efficiency and eliminate audio noise, allowing the system to meet Level VI energy efficiency standards; the adjustable output line compensation function provides excellent load regulation. In CC mode, output current and power can be adjusted via a resistor on the CS pin. The IC offers comprehensive smart protection features, including cycle-by-cycle OCP, OVP, open-loop protection, OTP, output short-circuit protection, and CS open/short-circuit protection.
