Introduction
The ultra-low-power microcontroller family consists of several devices with different peripherals for various applications. The architecture and five low-power modes are optimized for extended battery life in portable measurement applications. It features a 16-bit RISC CPU, 16-bit registers, and constant generators for maximum code efficiency. The DCO enables wake-up from low-power to active mode in less than 1 μs.
The MSP430G2x52 and MSP430G2x12 series are ultra-low-power mixed signal microcontrollers with 16-bit timers, up to 16 I/O capacitive-touch enabled pins, built-in communication via the universal serial communication interface, and a versatile analog comparator. The MSP430G2x52 series has a 10-bit A/D converter. Typical applications include low-cost sensor systems that capture analog signals, convert them to digital values, and process the data for display or transmission to a host system.
