Introduction
HX298N is a dual full-bridge stepper motor driver IC with an integrated four-channel logic drive circuit, designed to drive two-phase and four-phase stepper motors. It can simultaneously drive two two-phase or one four-phase motor. The IC incorporates two high-voltage, high-current dual full-bridge drivers that accept standard TTL logic level signals, capable of driving stepper motors rated below 36V and 2A, with output voltage directly adjustable via the supply. Analog timing signals can be provided directly from the MCU I/O ports. Two enable inputs allow independent enable/disable control of each H-bridge. The emitters of the lower transistors in each bridge are connected together with an external sense resistor. A separate logic supply input allows the logic circuitry to operate at a lower voltage. HX298N is available in a Multiwatt15 package.
