Introduction
Murata Power Solutions' fully isolated power amplifier quarter-brick series DC-DC converters are designed for power radio applications and optimized for next-generation microcell transmitter applications requiring up to 150W. The PAQ series features an input voltage range of 36 to 75V, delivering up to 5A output current from a fully regulated 29.8V output. The PAQ offers a wide output voltage adjustment range of 23.84 to 32.78V to accommodate multiple power amplifier designs, with industry-leading efficiency and an optimized design that minimizes component count and improves reliability. Design features include an optional baseplate optimized for RF power amplifier applications in enclosed chassis applications, where the heatsink mounts directly to the host equipment chassis. The PAQ is designed as an open-frame quarter-brick with through-hole mounting, with selectable positive or negative logic and an optional baseplate. The PAQ provides output overvoltage and overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown, input undervoltage lockout, and short-circuit protection. An optional baseplate for cold-plate applications is also available, with an optional baseplate ground connection pin. The module is designed to meet Class B conducted EMI requirements, with an optional external filter. The PAQ provides 2250V input-to-output isolation. The PAQ series is certified to safety standards.
