Description
The ADP5062 charger is fully compliant with USB 3.0 and USB Battery Charging Specification 1.2, enabling charging from wall chargers, car chargers, or USB host ports via the mini-USB VBUS pin. The ADP5062 features an input voltage range of 4 V to 6.7 V with a maximum withstand voltage of 20 V, mitigating USB bus spike issues during disconnection or connection. The ADP5062 integrates an internal FET between the linear charger output and the battery. This design provides battery isolation, allowing the system to operate without a depleted or absent battery, enabling system functions to run directly from USB power. Based on the USB power source type detected by an external USB detection IC, the ADP5062 can be configured to apply the correct current limit for optimal charging and USB compliance. The ADP5062 includes three factory-programmable digital I/O pins, providing maximum flexibility for different systems. These digital I/O pins allow combinations of features such as input current limiting, charge enable/disable, charge current limiting, and a dedicated interrupt output pin.
