Introduction
The TSOP95... series devices are the latest generation miniaturized IR receiver modules for infrared remote control systems. These series offer improved sensitivity to remote control signals in dark environments, as well as improved sensitivity in the presence of optical interference such as that from compact fluorescent lamps.
These devices contain a PIN diode and a preamplifier assembled on a lead frame. An IR filter is integrated in the epoxy package. The demodulated output signal can be directly connected to a microprocessor for decoding.
The TSOP956.. series devices are designed to receive long pulse codes (10 or more carrier cycles per burst). The third digit indicates the AGC level (AGC6), and the last two digits indicate the bandpass frequency (see table below). A higher AGC provides better noise suppression but lower code compatibility. AGC6 provides maximum noise suppression. In general, it is recommended to select the highest AGC that satisfactorily receives the required remote control codes.
These components are not qualified to automotive specifications.
Features
- Improved dark sensitivity
- Enhanced immunity to optical noise
- Ultra-low supply current
- Photodetector and preamplifier integrated in a single package
- Built-in PCM frequency filter
- Supply voltage: 2.0 V to 3.6 V
- Insensitive to supply voltage ripple and noise
