Introduction
The device is capable of clamping hazardous high-voltage, short-term transients — such as those generated by direct or radiated electrostatic discharge — before they reach sensitive component areas in the circuit design. The clamping response time is virtually instantaneous. As a result, they can also be effectively used to protect against ESD or EFT per IEC61000-4-2 and IEC61000-4-4, or in inductive switching environments and induced RF applications. They can also be used per IEC61000-4-5 and the ratings defined herein to protect other sensitive components against secondary lightning strikes. Microsemi offers a wide range of additional TVS products to meet higher and lower power requirements as well as special applications. RoHS (2002/95/EC) compliant, MSL Level 1 (J-STD-020). Qualified to automotive standard AEC-Q101. Bidirectional devices are designated by suffix C or CA, and the electrical characteristics apply in both directions.
