Introduction
The BQ79600-Q1 is a communication (bridge) IC designed to connect a microcontroller (MCU) and TI battery monitoring ICs, such as the BQ7961X-Q1. The device converts information from the MCU into signals that can be recognized and transmitted using TI's battery management daisy-chain protocol. Signals from the daisy chain are decoded into bitstreams and then sent back to the MCU. When using a ring architecture, the BQ79600-Q1 can wake up the MCU and PMIC in shutdown/sleep mode if any unmasked faults are detected. The BQ79600-Q1 is a bridge IC designed to interface between a microcontroller (MCU) and TI battery monitoring ICs (BQ7961X-Q1 family). It translates between the daisy-chain interface and the SPI/UART interface. It is fully compatible with the BQ7961X-Q1 family. When working with the BQ7961X-Q1 family, the BQ79600-Q1 supports automatic host wakeup through the INH pin when an unmasked fault is detected in the high-voltage battery pack.
