The TPS799 low-dropout (LDO), low-power linear regulator delivers excellent AC performance and ultra-low ground current. It consumes only 40μA (typical) ground current while offering high PSRR, low noise, fast startup, and excellent line and load transient response.

The TPS799 remains stable with ceramic capacitors, and utilizes an advanced BiCMOS process to achieve a typical dropout voltage of 100mV at 200mA output current. A precision voltage reference and feedback loop deliver 2% overall accuracy across the full range of load, line, process, and temperature variations. When EN switching is used to enable the device, the TPS799 features inrush current protection that immediately clamps the current.

The device is rated for an operating temperature range of TJ = -40°C to +125°C and is available in a die-size ball grid array (DSBGA) package, making it suitable for wireless handsets and WLAN cards. The device is also available in a 5-pin SOT-23-THIN and a 6-pin WSON package.
