Introduction
The AS5001 Arcadium all-silicon oscillator uses proprietary frequency synthesis and sensing technology to deliver quartz-free, MEMS-free, low-jitter clocks at any output frequency. The device is factory-programmed with an output frequency range of 10 kHz to 350 MHz, resolution <0.026 ppb, and maintains low jitter across its operating range. The AS5001 uses on-chip temperature and strain sensors along with an advanced LC resonator architecture to achieve excellent reliability even in high-shock scenarios. On-chip power supply filtering in the AS5001 provides industry-leading power supply noise rejection, simplifying the task of generating low-jitter clocks in noisy systems using switching-mode power supplies. The AS5001 is available in multiple industry-standard packages with a greatly simplified supply chain, enabling Aeonsemi to ship samples shortly after order receipt. The AS5001 can be factory-configured to various user specifications, including frequency, output format, and OE pin assignment. Specific configurations are factory-programmed at the time of shipment, eliminating the long lead times associated with custom oscillators. This process also guarantees 100% electrical testing of every device prior to shipment.
