The crimp-type male quick-slide connector shall be permanently connected, both electrically and mechanically, to the stripped end of a stranded copper conductor; and shall incorporate a flat rectangular tab section for mating with a female disconnect in a separable, reusable manner to form a quick-connect wiring connection. The 0.250-inch vinyl-insulated male disconnect shall be constructed of tin-plated 0.032-inch copper, with a 0.250-inch blade conforming to ANSI/NEMA DC-2 dimensions, a 0.25-inch-long barrel fitted with a molded vinyl sleeve, color-coded, and suitable for the specified (AWG) wire ranges (22–18, 16–14, 12–10). The connector product line shall offer tab variants (dimensioned 0.250 x 0.032 or 0.187 x 0.020, conforming to ANSI/NEMA DC2) and barrel variants, in wire sizes of 22–18 AWG, 16–14 AWG, and 12–10 AWG, with configurations including non-insulated, vinyl-insulated, and nylon fully-insulated. Insulated connectors shall be UL Listed and CSA Certified for use on building wire up to 600 volts maximum; and up to 1000 volts maximum for signs and luminaires. The maximum temperature rating of the connectors shall be 221°F (105°C). Quick-slide connectors shall be certified by regulatory authorities (UL Listed, CSA Certified). Tabs shall be marked with the wire range and manufacturer's logo. Quick-slide connectors are suitable for field or factory wiring and require a UL-recognized strain relief device.
