OmniVision's OVMed® OCHTA cable module is a fully integrated medical-grade imaging subsystem for single-use endoscopes and catheters. The cable module combines the world's smallest camera module with an upgraded OVMed® cable and miniature LED illumination into a complete, comprehensively medically tested component. It delivers superior image quality while reducing cost and time to market.
The OCHTA cable module integrates OmniVision's OHOTA image sensor, which is smaller than its Guinness World Record-setting predecessor, offers four times the resolution, and provides wafer-level optics in a single compact component. The OCHTA cable module's uniquely small form factor enables endoscopic devices to reach deep inside the human body, supporting a wide range of procedures including neurology, ophthalmology, ENT, cardiac, spinal, urology, gynecology, and arthroscopy, as well as dental and veterinary applications. The integrated miniature LED illumination gives surgeons precise brightness control, enabling clear visualization of some of the smallest areas within anatomical structures.

It delivers high contrast in smaller localized areas, is suited for extremely compact packaging, and provides independent brightness and dimming control for multispectral (RGB/IR) devices during surgical procedures.
The OCHTA cable module leverages OmniVision's CameraCubeChip® wafer-level technology to deliver a 0.65 mm x 0.65 mm miniature camera module with 400 x 400 or 160 KPixel resolution for high-quality image capture. The cable module also features the latest OVMed® cable, offering high flexibility in a thin micro-coaxial form factor.
OmniVision's OVMed® cable module is a medical-grade reliable component that has undergone comprehensive certification, qualification, and testing, including hazardous substance testing, sterilization, biocompatibility, process, handling, and stress testing. This increases the likelihood and speed of FDA clearance for medical device OEMs, while providing hospitals, surgeons, and patients with a high degree of confidence in endoscopic devices.
