AiP54123 is a semiconductor IC featuring an amplifier for high-speed ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs). For the amplification stage of the GFCI, AiP54123 consists of a differential amplifier, a latch circuit, and a voltage regulator. During normal operation, AiP54123 should be connected to the secondary side of a ZCT (Zero Current Transformer). The ZCT detects leakage current at the two input terminals of the differential amplifier. The amplified signal is then passed through an external capacitor, and the integrated signal is connected to the input terminal of the latch circuit. The output characteristics are suited for high-speed GFCIs. The latch circuit output remains low until the input voltage reaches a fixed level, at which point it goes high and drives the load connected to the latch circuit output.
