Beschreibung
The Linear Ball Bearing Ultra-Precision Probe is a dimensional measurement probe designed for high-accuracy, repeatable measurements in quality control and metrology applications. Its internal linear ball bearing system reduces radial clearance to an extremely low level while minimizing friction, enabling ultra-precision measurement. The bearing assembly features two rows of miniature balls running on a non-rotating probe stem. The stem is hardened to Rockwell hardness 65, hard chrome plated, and precision ground for optimal repeatability and resistance to indentation. The contact end of the stem is fitted with a removable tungsten carbide ball tip. The stem and bearings are housed within a cylindrical body that is hand-honed and precision-fitted to the bearing assembly. This precision fit delivers exceptional repeatability. The matched hardness between the bearings and the body allows the stem to better withstand lateral loads, extending service life. The opposite end of the tubular body contains a Linear Variable Differential Transformer. With no physical contact between its core and coil, the LVDT produces a highly repeatable output voltage proportional to displacement. The LBB probe features a unique two-piece construction that allows repair if the probe body or cable is damaged. A bending strain relief spring protects the cable exit point. A positive mechanical stop prevents LVDT damage from overtravel impact at the contact end. Spring-extended LBB probes offer user-adjustable pre-travel/overtravel settings. Pneumatically extended, spring-retracted units require clean, dry, oil-free air at 5 to 15 PSI [0.34 to 1 bar]; by varying air pressure, the user can control measuring force to ensure the probe will not damage finished surfaces or distort precision parts.
