TI ISL5586CIM

The ISL5586 is an ultra-low-power ringing subscriber interface circuit designed to work with the Broadcom BCM3352 cable modem chip, an on-board voiceband codec, or other 3.3V voiceband codec devices. The ISL5586 generates on-board ringing signals up to 95V peak, supporting sinusoidal or trapezoidal waveforms with DC offset. It supports loop-start and ground-start trunks, and in the on-hook state, the subscriber loop maintains an open-circuit DC voltage below 56V, complying with MTU operation and UL-1950 safety requirements. Together with the Broadcom BCM3352, the ISL5586 provides resistive and complex two-wire impedance matching and hybrid transformer balance. It also supports on-hook caller ID signal transmission, soft and hard polarity reversal, and the 12/16kHz subscriber pulse metering system used in Europe and Asia, enabling low-cost, low-risk worldwide product designs.
