PC420A-EX series are explosion-proof, loop-powered accelerometer sensors. The sensors are suitable for hazardous areas with relevant certifications such as Class I, Div 1, 2 Groups A, B, C, D, etc. During use, the sensors must be installed in accordance with the installation instructions or local code requirements. Special conditions for safe use include: conduit seals must be installed within 18 inches (450 mm) of the enclosure, and supply wiring rated for at least 70°C must be used. Accessories include SF20-2 mounting stud and calibration data (Level 2). Optional accessories include SF20-1 mounting stud (1/4-28 to 3/8-24). Maximum loop resistance can be calculated using the formula RL = (VDCpower - 12V) / 20mA. Recommended resistance is greater than 10Ω, and minimum RL wattage is determined by (0.0004 × RL).
