KEMET's VP series of low and medium voltage plasticencapsulated varistors are designed to protect electronic equipment against high voltage surges in the low and medium voltage region. They offer direct surface mount equivalents to leaded disc varistors of 5 and 7 mm sizes. The thermoplastic encapsulation is non-fammable according to the standard UL 94V-0. Contacts are made of tinned copper sheet. These transient voltage suppressors cover an operating voltage Vrms from 60V to 300V, featuring maximum surge currents from 400 - 1,200A.
