Altech is pleased to announce a new, expanded line of PCB terminal blocks. The line offers standard single-level and double-level fixed and pluggable terminal blocks in both metric and imperial pin spacings. Going beyond previous standard offerings, the line now includes a broader product family within each pin pitch, along with new terminal block styles such as 35°, reverse horizontal wire entry, three-level fixed terminal blocks, edge card connectors, panel feed-through terminal blocks, separator strips, and plugs/receptacles with screw flanges. This product mix, combined with a new pricing structure, makes the line highly competitive.

Altech PCB terminal blocks provide highly reliable connections without the need for ferrules. For cost-sensitive applications, tubular screw clamp or box clamp terminations are available; for heavy-duty applications, the cage clamp is recommended. In each case, simply strip the wire, insert it, and tighten the screw. Ferrules are recommended, particularly for export applications and where fine stranded wire termination is required.

Our board-mount terminal blocks meet or exceed most international standards and are widely accepted worldwide. They are available in single-level, double-level, and three-level configurations with both millimeter and inch pin spacings. All products have a small footprint, conserving valuable board space.

Our PCB terminal blocks designed for fixed mounting offer high density and maximum flexibility. The modular design simplifies ordering and reduces inventory. Two-pole and three-pole modules can be interlocked to create multi-pole assemblies. Altech can also supply pre-assembled configurations to your specifications. Fixed-mount terminal blocks are available with economical tubular screw, box clamp, or cage clamp terminations, and offer multiple wire entry options for easy wiring and improved accessibility.

Our pluggable terminal blocks feature a two-piece plug and receptacle design that speeds and simplifies board replacement, reducing costly downtime and mismating. No special tools are required. The receptacle is soldered to the board and accepts the plug, which can be easily removed for quick, convenient board or equipment replacement. For maximum strength, an integrally molded design is available; when maximum flexibility is needed to accommodate changing requirements, a modular design assembled from two-pole and three-pole modules is available. Both are offered in a variety of configurations. Receptacles are available in vertical and horizontal, single-level or double-level, and closed or open end configurations.

We offer pluggable terminal blocks with cage clamp termination for heavy-duty requirements, as well as pluggable terminal blocks with tubular screw termination and open receptacles for cost-sensitive applications. A card edge connector is also available for fast, reliable, and economical connections.

Each clamp type is available in both metric and imperial pin spacings. For convenience, this catalog is organized by pin pitch — starting with fixed terminal blocks from the smallest pitch, followed by pluggable terminal blocks for each available pitch.

Altech PCB terminal blocks are available in three termination designs — tubular screw, box clamp, and cage clamp:

• For applications requiring maximum reliability and frequent wire terminations, choose the cage clamp. When the clamp is tightened, the nickel-plated cage rises to firmly press the wire against the bus bar, ensuring a secure connection every time. Standard color: green.
• In the tubular screw and box clamp designs, tightening the screw presses the conductor directly against the bottom of the clamp. These systems are ideal for cost-sensitive, lighter-duty applications or those with infrequent wire terminations. Wire guards are standard. Standard color for tubular screw is black; standard color for box clamp is green.

All of our PCB terminal blocks feature precision-molded or machined metal components with electrolytic plating. Nickel- or tin-plated brass cage clamps or tubes, wire guards, and tin-plated solder pins meet the most demanding requirements. Housings are precision-molded from self-extinguishing polyamide 6.8 or glass fiber reinforced polyester, offering excellent strength and heat resistance.

Altech provides marking to identify terminal inputs. For high-volume permanent or custom marking, hot-stamp imprinting service is available. Standard marking consists of consecutive numbers from left to right. This standard marking can be ordered by adding a suffix (e.g., MV-4612/iA would be an MV-4612 terminal block imprinted 1 through 12 from left to right).
