The Si552 dual-frequency VCXO leverages Skyworks Solutions' advanced DSPLL® circuitry to deliver ultra-low jitter clocks across all output frequencies. The Si552 supports any-rate output frequencies from 10 to 945 MHz, as well as selected frequencies up to 1400 MHz. Unlike conventional VCXOs, which require a different crystal for each output frequency, the Si552 uses a single fixed crystal frequency to support a wide range of output frequencies. This IC-based approach provides excellent frequency stability and reliability inherent to crystal resonators. In addition, DSPLL clock synthesis offers superior power supply noise rejection, simplifying the task of generating low-jitter clocks in the noisy environments typical of communication systems. The Si552 IC-based VCXO can be factory-configured to a variety of user specifications, including frequency, supply voltage, output format, tuning slope, and temperature stability. Specific configurations are factory-programmed at the time of shipment, eliminating the long lead times associated with custom oscillators.
