KEMET automotive-grade X7R dielectric SMT capacitors are designed for applications requiring reliable performance in harsh environments. Given the potentially severe environmental conditions, more stringent test protocols and inspection standards have been established for automotive-grade products. KEMET automotive-grade capacitors meet the rigorous AEC-Q200 certification requirements of the Automotive Electronics Council. The X7R dielectric has a maximum operating temperature of 125°C and is considered to have temperature stability. The Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) classifies X7R dielectric as a Class II material. These components are fixed ceramic dielectric capacitors suitable for bypass and decoupling applications, or for frequency discrimination circuits where high Q and capacitance stability are not critical. X7R capacitance change over time and voltage is predictable, with minimal variation relative to ambient temperature. Over the temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, capacitance change is limited to ±15%.
