The LP87332D is designed to meet the power management requirements of new processors and platforms in industrial applications. The device features two step-down DC/DC converters, two LDOs, and two general-purpose digital output signals. The device is controlled via an I2C-compatible serial interface and enable signals.

Automatic PWM/PFM (AUTO mode) operation delivers high efficiency across a wide output current range. The LP87332D supports remote voltage sensing to compensate for IR drop between the regulator output and the point-of-load (POL), improving output voltage accuracy. In addition, the switching clock can be forced into PWM mode and synchronized to an external clock to minimize interference.

The LP87332D supports load current measurement without external current-sense resistors. It also supports programmable startup and shutdown delays with sequencing control, including GPO signals synchronized to the enable signal. If an external clock is not required, a second GPO signal can be provided through pin multiplexing on the CLKIN pin. During startup and voltage transitions, the device controls the output slew rate to minimize output voltage overshoot and inrush current.
