The Intersil HC5503 low-cost Subscriber Line Interface Circuit (SLIC) is optimized for small analog or analog/digital hybrid Key Telephone Systems (KTS) or Private Branch Exchange (PBX) products. Low component count solutions and SMT package options enable compact desktop key system/PBX products. The HC5503's low power consumption and minimal supply voltage requirements minimize internal power dissipation in end products. Compared to transformer, thick-film hybrid, or discrete analog subscriber interface designs, the HC5503 integrated solution offers higher quality, greater reliability, and better performance. Designed with dielectric isolation bipolar technology, the HC5503 is inherently latch-up free and requires no hot-swap or power sequencing precautions.
