Opis
KEMET's X8L dielectric, with a maximum operating temperature of 150°C, is considered a "general-purpose high-temperature" dielectric. These components are fixed ceramic dielectric capacitors suitable for high-temperature bypass and decoupling applications, or frequency discriminator circuits where Q factor and capacitance stability are not critical. The X8L exhibits predictable capacitance variation over time and voltage, with minimal capacitance change at ambient temperatures up to 125°C. Above 125°C, the capacitance variation range of the X8L widens. From -55°C to +125°C, capacitance change is limited to ±15%; from 125°C to 150°C, capacitance change is +15%, -40%.
Driven by the demand for more robust and reliable components, X8L dielectric capacitors were developed for critical applications requiring reliability in high-temperature operating environments. These capacitors are widely used in automotive circuits and general high-temperature applications. These devices feature KEMET's flexible termination technology, which suppresses the transfer of board stress to the rigid ceramic body, thereby reducing flex cracks that could lead to low insulation resistance or short-circuit failures. Although flexible termination technology cannot eliminate mechanical damage that may occur under extreme environmental and operating conditions, it offers superior flex crack resistance compared to standard termination systems.
In addition to commercial-grade products, automotive-grade products are also available, complying with the stringent AEC-Q200 certification requirements of the Automotive Electronics Council.
