Opis
Optical liquid level sensor using non-modulated infrared light for liquid detection. Equipped with a built-in amplifier. The emitter and receiver are completely independent, housed in a solid plastic enclosure designed for mounting on container walls. The VP01/02 models feature a polysulfone housing with high chemical resistance to most acids and bases. The VP03/04 models feature a polyamide 12 housing with chemical resistance to a wide range of solvents. The sensor contains an infrared emitter, a receiver, and an amplifier with transistor or thyristor output. The light source is a gallium arsenide diode that emits infrared light. The conical tip of the sensor forms a 90° angle. This angle acts as a prism: the light beam emitted from the GaAs diode on one side of the sensor head is internally reflected to the phototransistor on the other side of the sensor head when the sensor tip is in air. If the sensor tip is immersed in liquid (whose refractive index always differs from that of air), the light beam will not be refracted by the prism, and the phototransistor will not receive any signal. This sensor type can operate in oil, wastewater, and aqueous solutions (such as beer, wine, alcohol, etc.) without any accessories.
