MIC5236 is a low quiescent current, micro-cap low dropout regulator. It supports a maximum operating input voltage of 30V with a quiescent current of only 20µA, making it ideal for standby power supply in systems powered by high-voltage batteries. The MIC5236 delivers 150mA output current with a dropout voltage of only 300mV. It can also withstand input transient voltages from -20V to +60V. As a high-cap LDO, the MIC5236 remains stable with either ceramic or tantalum output capacitors. For stability, only a 1.0µF output capacitor is required. The MIC5236 includes a logic-compatible enable input and an undervoltage error flag indicator. Additional features include thermal shutdown, current limiting, overvoltage shutdown, load dump protection, reverse leakage protection, and reverse battery protection. The MIC5236 is available in thermally enhanced SOIC-8 and MSOP-8 packages in fixed 2.5V, 3.0V, 3.3V, 5.0V, and adjustable output voltage versions. For other output voltages, contact Micrel.
