Opis
CR6841 is a highly integrated current-mode PWM controller designed for medium to large offline power converters. To reduce standby power consumption and improve efficiency, CR6841 incorporates multiple operating modes. As the load varies, CR6841 can operate in three distinct modes, each individually optimized. Under heavy load conditions, the system operates in conventional PWM mode. As the load decreases, the system transitions to PFM mode. In PFM mode, the switching frequency gradually decreases as the load becomes lighter. A proprietary frequency conversion module in CR6841 enables smooth reduction of switching frequency without generating noise. The reduction in frequency effectively minimizes switching losses. When the load continues to drop below a preset threshold, the system enters PSM mode. In PSM mode, certain switching cycles are skipped with the switch fully turned off during those cycles, further reducing standby power consumption. Frequency dithering is integrated across all three operating modes to improve system EMI performance. The IC also integrates a constant power limiting module to deliver constant output power across the full voltage range (90V~264V). CR6841 integrates multiple functions and protection features, including UVLO, VDD OVP, soft start, additional programmable OTP, cycle-by-cycle OCP, OLP, all-pin open protection, RI pin short-to-ground protection, GATE clamp, VDD clamp, and leading-edge blanking. CR6841 is available in SOP-8 and DIP-8 packages.
