Rochester Electronics P8291A

The 8291A is an enhanced version of the 8291 GPIB Talker/Listener designed to interface microprocessors to the IEEE Standard 488 Instrument Interface Bus. It implements all interface functions defined by the standard except the Controller function, which can be added via the 8292 GPIB Controller. It interfaces microprocessors (such as 8048/49, 8051, 8080/85, 8086/88) to the IEEE Standard 488 Digital Interface Bus, featuring programmable data transfer rates, complete Source and Acceptor Handshake, full Talker and Listener functions with extended addressing, Service Request, Parallel Poll, Device Clear, Device Trigger, and Remote/Local functions. Clock range is 1–8 MHz, with 16 registers (8 read, 8 write): 2 dedicated to data transfer and the remainder used for interface function control, status, and related operations.
