MAXIM MAX9271GTJ/V+T

The MAX9271 compact serializer is designed to drive 50Ω coaxial or 100Ω shielded twisted-pair (STP) cables. The device is paired with the MAX9272 deserializer.

The parallel input is programmable as single or dual input. Dual input allows higher pixel clock input frequencies by registering pixels from two typical image sensor video data streams prior to serialization. This doubles the maximum pixel clock frequency compared to single-input mode.

The device features an embedded control channel operating at 9.6kbps to 1Mbps in UART and hybrid UART/I2C modes, and up to 400kbps in 2's complement mode. Through the control channel, a μC can independently program the serializer, deserializer, and camera (or any peripheral) registers at any time, independent of video timing. One dedicated GPIO, four optional GPIOs, and one GPO output are available for functions such as remote camera module activation and camera frame synchronization. Error detection and correction coding is programmable.

To drive longer cables, the device features programmable pre-emphasis/de-emphasis. Programmable spread spectrum is available on the serial output. The serial output complies with ISO 10605 and IEC 61000-4-2 ESD standards. Core supply voltage ranges from 1.7V to 1.9V, and IO supply voltage ranges from 1.7V to 3.6V. The device is available in a 32-pin (5mm × 5mm) TQFN-EP package with 0.5mm pin pitch, operating over a -40°C to +105°C temperature range.
