The AD5620/AD5640/AD5660 is a low power, single-channel, 12/14/16-bit, buffered voltage output DAC with guaranteed monotonicity by design. The AD5620/AD5640/AD5660-1 incorporates an on-chip 1.25 V, 5 ppm/°C reference, providing a full-scale output voltage of 2.5 V; the AD5620/AD5640/AD5660-2-3 incorporates an on-chip 2.5 V, 5 ppm/°C reference, providing a full-scale output voltage of 5 V. The reference voltage is available at the VREFOUT pin. These devices include a power-on reset circuit that ensures the DAC output powers up to 0 V (AD5620/AD5640/AD5660-1-2) or midscale (AD5620-3 and AD5660-3) and remains at that level until a valid write operation is performed. A power-down feature is also provided; in power-down mode, the current consumption drops to 480 nA at 5 V, with software-selectable output loads. Power consumption is 2.5 mW at 5 V, reducing to 1 μW in power-down mode. The AD5620/AD5640/AD5660 incorporates an on-chip precision output amplifier capable of rail-to-rail output swing. For remote sensing applications, the inverting input of the output amplifier is also accessible to the user. The AD5620/AD5640/AD5660 features a versatile 3-wire serial interface that operates at clock rates up to 30 MHz and is compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP interface standards.
