The ME431L is a three-terminal, low quiescent current, adjustable shunt regulator that maintains stability across the full temperature range, behaving like a low-temperature-coefficient Zener diode. The ME431L features a wide operating current range of 35μA to 80mA at a typical dynamic impedance of 0.05Ω. Its low temperature coefficient and low dynamic impedance make it a suitable replacement for Zener diodes in many applications, including switching power supplies, charge management, and op-amp circuits. Compared to its predecessor, the ME431, the ME431L offers a more than 20× typical improvement in cathode current range. Stability is also enhanced, supporting a wider range of load capacitance types and values. The ME431L supports a maximum operating voltage of 36V, with the output voltage adjustable from 2.5V to 36V via external resistors. The ME431L is available in two reference accuracy grades: 0.5% and 1%.
