KEMET Z-SMS signal line multilayer ferrite chip beads are ideal for high-frequency noise suppression on digital product clock lines and general-purpose signal lines. These ferrite beads feature a compact footprint suited for mobile devices with strict size and height constraints. The internal silver-printed layer structure forms a closed magnetic circuit that acts as a magnetic shield to reduce heat generation and crosstalk. The use of different material types further specializes the functionality and characteristics of the chip beads:

1. Material "A" for broadband noise suppression. The low R-XL frequency crossover point and large resistive component provide damping to suppress unwanted resonance and maintain signal integrity.
2. Material "B" for noise suppression above 20 MHz with higher attenuation. Generally most effective for video signal lines.
3. Material "C" for high-frequency noise suppression above 100 MHz. Used on high-speed signal lines; effective for clock lines.
4. Material "D" for noise suppression around 200 MHz; effective for EMC regulatory compliance.
5. Material "E" strongly suppresses unwanted resonance from the low-frequency range due to a lower R-XL frequency crossover point compared to Material "A".
6. Material "F" for noise suppression around LSI power supplies. This is a low DC resistance version of Material "A".
