Opis
GH284 is a driver IC for 5V and 12V dual-coil DC motor fans. The chip integrates a Hall sensor and two output driver circuits, with built-in reverse polarity protection, over-temperature protection, locked-rotor protection, and auto-recovery startup circuitry. When the chip detects that the motor fan has stopped for 0.5 seconds, it enters locked-rotor protection mode, automatically shuts off both outputs for 4.0 seconds, then restarts the circuit to detect whether the motor fan is rotating. If rotation resumes, the chip returns to normal operation; otherwise, if the motor fan still fails to rotate within 0.5 seconds, the chip re-enters locked-rotor protection mode and shuts off again for 4.0 seconds. This cycle repeats until the motor fan operates normally. This feature effectively prevents coil overheating damage caused by locked-rotor conditions. The GH284 delivers a maximum startup current of 700mA and a maximum continuous output current of 400mA, available in a through-hole SIP-4L (TO-94) package.
