Descrição
The MC74HC238A is pin compatible with the LS238. The inputs are compatible with standard CMOS outputs; with pull-up resistors, they are also compatible with LSTTL outputs.
The HC238A decodes a 3-bit address into one of eight active-HIGH outputs. The device features three chip select inputs — two active-LOW and one active-HIGH — to facilitate demultiplexing, cascading, and chip select functions. The demultiplexing function is accomplished by using the address inputs to select the desired device output; one of the chip selects is used as the data input while the remaining chip selects are held in their active states.
