PTC PT6912

PT6912C is an ultra-high-voltage linear constant-power driver IC designed for LED loads with high drive voltage and low current. The application circuit requires minimal external components with a compact layout, enabling simple and flexible integration into various small-form-factor or flat-panel LED products. The simple linear drive topology eliminates magnetic components, effectively avoiding EMI issues.

PT6912C employs a patented closed-loop control scheme to achieve constant output current regulation, delivering excellent line regulation and load regulation. Within a specified input voltage range, the average output current is maintained constant, keeping output power constant and LED brightness stable. The ESOP8 package adds a line voltage sensing pin to achieve input constant-power operation.

To prevent IC damage from overheating, PT6912C integrates an intelligent thermal control function. When the IC junction temperature rises to 135°C, PT6912C begins to reduce the output current; when the junction temperature reaches 155°C, the output current is reduced to zero. This eliminates the flickering issue associated with conventional over-temperature protection approaches.
