The A50 series is made of metallized polyester film (winding technology) with tinned wire axial leads. The axial leads are connected to the contact metallization at the ends of the capacitor winding by welding. The capacitors are encapsulated with polyester tape and end-filled with thermosetting resin. Automotive-grade devices meet the stringent AEC-Q200 qualification requirements of the Automotive Electronics Council.

Typical applications include DC blocking, coupling, decoupling, bypassing, and interference suppression in low-voltage applications such as automotive. Not suitable for across-the-line applications (see suppression capacitors).
