The LMZ10503EXT power module is a complete, easy-to-use DC/DC solution capable of driving loads up to 3A, featuring excellent power conversion efficiency, output voltage accuracy, and line and load regulation. The LMZ10503EXT utilizes an innovative package that enhances thermal performance and supports both manual and machine soldering. The LMZ10503EXT accepts an input voltage rail ranging from 2.95V to 5.5V and provides a highly accurate adjustable output voltage as low as 0.8V. The 1MHz fixed-frequency PWM switching offers predictable EMI characteristics. Two external compensation components are tuned to set the fastest response time and allow the selection of either ceramic or electrolytic output capacitors. An externally programmable soft-start capacitor enables controlled startup. The LMZ10503EXT is a robust and reliable solution featuring: lossless cycle-by-cycle peak current limiting for protection against overcurrent or short-circuit faults, thermal shutdown, input undervoltage lockout, and pre-bias startup. The LMZ10503EXT also provides full support for WEBENCH and Power Designer tools.
