Potentiometers convert rotary motion into resistance changes, providing smooth transitions in voltage or current levels. The resulting voltage output can be used to control position sensors in a variety of potential applications. The 392 Series and RV6 Series 0.5W plastic potentiometers are cost-effective devices designed to meet PCB wave soldering process requirements. All versions incorporate an internal shaft seal for moisture protection and, where applicable, comply with PCB cleanability test requirements and relevant standards. Termination types are PC pins or solder hooks, both processed by dip soldering. These compact single-turn devices feature a shaft diameter of 3.18mm [0.125 in] and are available in multiple lengths. Most configurations offer standard or split-locking 1/4-32 NEF-2A bushings in panel-sealed or non-panel-sealed versions. Shaft/bushing materials are nickel-plated brass or thermoplastic, available in metal/metal, plastic/plastic, or combination forms. Custom designs are available upon request. The 392 Series and RV6 Series cover a resistance range of 100 ohms to 5 megohms inclusive. Tapers include linear, logarithmic, and anti-logarithmic to meet a wide range of application requirements. RV6 Series devices comply with relevant standards.
