GATEMODE GM485E

The GM485E is a high-speed half-duplex transceiver for RS-485/RS-422 communications, incorporating one driver and one receiver. It features a failsafe circuit that ensures a logic-high output at the receiver when the receiver input is open or short-circuited. If all drivers connected to a terminated bus are disabled (high-impedance), the receiver will output a logic high. The GM485E incorporates a slew-rate-limited driver to reduce EMI and reflections caused by improperly terminated cables, enabling error-free data transmission at up to 500kbps. In addition, the GM485E receiver features 1/8 unit load input impedance, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected on the bus.
