The R-GAGE sensor transmits a beam of high-frequency radio waves through an internal antenna. A portion of the transmitted energy is reflected back to the receive antenna. Signal processing electronics determine the distance from the sensor to an object based on the time delay of the returned signal. The sensor can be configured with two independent sensing zones. Both sensing zones are factory-preset with default distances; different distances can be reconfigured using the DIP switches on the side of the sensor. The sensor is plug-and-play. Sensitivity is factory pre-calibrated, assuming no obstructions in the sensing zones. Sensitivity can be adjusted using the DIP switches on the side of the sensor.
