RTY Series and RTP Series Hall effect rotary position sensors provide non-contact sensing for harsh transportation and industrial applications at a competitive cost. The RTY Series is a shaft-driven product available in two versions: integral shaft with or without a lever. The lever allows customers to reduce the amount of mechanical linkage required in their application, lowering overall solution cost. The RTP Series takes non-contact sensing to a new level by separating the magnet from the sensor body. The elimination of a drive shaft removes radial force wear on bearings. The magnet is available in bare or encapsulated versions. These products use a magnetically biased Hall effect IC to sense rotary movement of an actuator within a set operating range. Actuator rotation changes the position of the magnet relative to the IC, and the resulting change in magnetic flux density is converted to a linear output. The IC is sealed together with conditioning and protection circuitry in a rugged IP69K-rated package for durability in most harsh environments. Eight operating ranges from 50° to 360° with over-travel tolerance cover most common applications. Low-voltage and high-voltage versions support an input voltage range of 4.5 Vdc to 30 Vdc.
