The XSTM DrMOS series is Fairchild Semiconductor's next-generation, fully optimized, ultra-compact integrated MOSFET plus driver power stage solution for high-current, high-frequency synchronous buck DC-DC applications. The FDMF6823A integrates a driver IC, two power MOSFETs, and a bootstrap Schottky diode into a thermally enhanced, ultra-compact 6x6 mm package. Through integrated design, the entire switching power stage is optimized in terms of driver and MOSFET dynamic performance, system inductance, and power MOSFET on-resistance RDS(ON). The XTTM DrMOS employs Fairchild Semiconductor's high-performance PowerTrench® MOSFET technology, which significantly reduces switching ringing and eliminates the need for snubber circuits in most buck converter applications. The driver IC with shorter dead times and propagation delays further enhances performance. A thermal warning function alerts against potential overtemperature conditions. The FDMF6823A also integrates a skip-cycle mode (SMOD#) to improve light-load efficiency. In addition, the FDMF6823A offers a tri-state 5 V PWM input compatible with a wide range of PWM controllers.
