Beschreibung
The AD8475 is a fully differential attenuating amplifier with integrated precision gain resistors, offering precision attenuation (0.4× or 0.8×), common-mode level shifting, single-ended-to-differential conversion, and input overvoltage protection. Operating from a 5 V single supply, it consumes only 16 mW.
It is an easy-to-use, fully integrated precision gain block that, when operating from a single supply, can handle signal levels up to ±10 V. It provides a complete interface that allows industrial-level signals to directly interface with the differential input range of low voltage, high-performance 16-bit or 18-bit single-supply successive approximation register (SAR) ADCs.
The AD8475 offers two pin-selectable standard gain options: 0.4 and 0.8. The gain is set by driving the input pin corresponding to the desired gain.
The AD8475 also features overvoltage protection, allowing the device to withstand industrial input voltages up to ±15 V while operating from a 5 V single supply. The VOCM pin adjusts the output common-mode voltage for precision level shifting to match the ADC input range and maximize dynamic range.
The AD8475 is well suited for use with SAR, Σ-Δ, and pipeline converters. Its high current output stage enables it to drive the switched-capacitor front ends of many ADCs with minimal error.
Unlike many differential amplifiers on the market, the AD8475 is a high-precision amplifier. With a maximum output offset voltage of 500 μV, output noise of 10 nV/√Hz, and THD+N of −112 dB, it is an excellent companion for high-precision converters. Given its low power consumption and high accuracy, the slew-enhanced AD8475 delivers outstanding speed, capable of settling to 18-bit accuracy for 4 MSPS acquisition.
The AD8475 is available in a space-saving 16-lead 3 mm × 3 mm LFCSP and a 10-lead MSOP package, rated for the −40°C to +85°C temperature range.
