EG Micro EG276

The EG276 integrates a Hall sensor and open-collector complementary output driver, primarily designed for two-phase brushless DC fans with electronic commutation. The chip internally integrates a Hall sensing element, reference voltage, preamplifier, Schmitt comparator, and complementary open-collector outputs (DO, DOB). In DC fan applications, reverse power supply connections may occasionally occur. The EG276 incorporates a built-in reverse polarity protection diode, which provides protection only for the chip itself and not for the coil. If necessary, an external diode can be connected to the coil to provide protection against reverse polarity. When the magnetic flux density (B) exceeds the operate point (Bop), DO turns on and outputs a low level, while DOB turns off and outputs a high level. Both output pins maintain their states until B falls below the release point (Brp), at which point DO and DOB switch their respective output states.
