Introduction
A low dropout (LDO) regulator capable of delivering up to 250 mA with a quiescent current of only 2.0 μA (typical). Its input voltage range of 2.7V to 13.2V makes it ideal for applications powered by two or six AA/AAA cells, 9V alkaline batteries, and single or dual-cell lithium-ion batteries. With an input-to-output voltage differential of just 625 mV (typical), it can deliver 250 mA (VOUT = 2.8V). Output voltage tolerance is typically ±0.4% at +25°C, with a maximum of ±3% over the junction temperature operating range (−40°C to +125°C). Line regulation is typically ±0.1% at +25°C. Output voltage is adjustable from 1.2V to 5.0V. The LDO regulates stably with as little as a 1 μF output capacitor. Ceramic, tantalum, or aluminum electrolytic capacitors are all suitable for use as input and output capacitors. Current limiting and thermal shutdown circuits ensure a safe and reliable solution in any application. Available package options: SOT-23A, SOT-89-3, and TO-92.
