Introduction
CN3767 is a PWM buck-mode 12V lead-acid battery charge management IC that independently and automatically manages lead-acid battery charging, featuring a compact package, minimal external components, and ease of use.
CN3767 supports trickle charge, constant current, overcharge, and float charge modes, making it ideal for 12V lead-acid battery charging. In overcharge and float charge modes, the typical charge voltages are 14.8V and 13.55V respectively; in constant current mode, the charge current is set via an external resistor. When powered by a solar panel, the internal circuitry automatically tracks the maximum power point of the solar panel — eliminating the need to account for worst-case conditions — and maximizes the utilization of the solar panel's output power, making it well-suited for solar-powered applications. If the battery voltage drops below 75% of the configured overcharge voltage, CN3767 applies trickle charge at 17.5% of the set constant current charge level. During the overcharge phase, the charge current gradually decreases; when it falls to 38% of the constant current charge level, CN3767 transitions to float charge mode. In float charge mode, if the battery voltage drops to 83.95% of the configured overcharge voltage, a new charge cycle begins automatically. When the input power is lost or the input voltage falls below the battery voltage, CN3767 automatically enters a low-power sleep mode.
Additional features include input undervoltage lockout, battery terminal overvoltage protection, and charge status indication.
CN3767 is available in a 10-pin SSOP package.
