Introduction
The NTE4538B is a dual, retriggerable, resettable monostable multivibrator in a 16-pin DIP package. It can be triggered by either edge of the input pulse and produces precise output pulses over a wide range of pulse widths, with duration and accuracy determined by external timing components CX and RX. Linear CMOS technology enables more precise control of output pulse width.

- Device-to-device pulse width variation ±1.0% (typical)
- Pulse width variation over temperature range ±0.5% (typical)
- New formula: T = R×C (T in seconds, R in ohms, C in farads)
- Pulse width range - 10μs to ∞
- Symmetrical output sink and source current capability
- Latching trigger input
- Separate latch reset input
- Quiescent current (standby) = 5nA/package (typical, 5V DC)
- Operating voltage range 3V DC to 18V DC
- Triggerable by either rising or falling edge
- Capable of driving two low-power TTL loads, one low-power Schottky TTL load, or two HTL loads over the rated temperature range
- For pulse widths less than 10μs, use of NTE4525B is recommended
