Introduction
The Harris CA3310 is a fast, low-power 10-bit successive approximation ADC with microprocessor-compatible outputs. It requires only a single 3V to 6V supply and draws a typical current of only 3mA at 5V operation. It accepts full rail-to-rail input signals and features a built-in track-and-hold function. The track-and-hold function can track high-bandwidth input signals, as its input time constant is only 100ns (typical). The ten data outputs provide full-speed CMOS three-state bus drive capability and are latched and held throughout the entire conversion cycle. Separate 8-bit MSB and 2-bit LSB enables, a data-ready flag, and start-of-conversion and ready-reset inputs complete the microprocessor interface. An internally adjustable clock is provided and is available as an output. The clock can also be driven by an external source.
